A Celebration For Parents

Whanau Hui

Yesterday we had a Chromebook celebration and my dad came into my room. I had to show him my work that I had made. I made a screencastify and showed him the class blog and the class site. I showed my dad my blog and the WeVideo that I made. I did a survey with my dad and introduced him to Mrs Grant and Yayleen Hubbard. After that my dad signed a bit of paper to bring my Chromebook home. Then my dad went to get a banana and I went to get some crackers with cheese and a juice box. It was great to take my Chromebook home. My internet at home was poor because it kept on going off and on, off and on.

After a technology problem with WeVideo, I have made my first Video with the help and knowledge from my sister Sini and my teacher Mrs Buchanan. 

New Learning For 2016

Talofa Lava! My name is Saluselo. I am a year six in Room 10 at Ruapotaka School. I am Samoan. My teacher is Mrs Buchanan. I am ten years of age and my favourite subject is maths.

My favourite sports are rugby and basketball. I admire my family and cousins because they always inspire me and help me when I am stuck on my homework. My favourite movie is Journey 2 The Mystery Island.  

My Quality Blog Comment

We are learning to write quality blog comments. Here is a screenshot of a comment I wrote for Sini’s blog. Mrs Grant has been teaching us to write a specific and positive comment. I think this is why it is a quality blog comment.

Snagit Time!

This is the snagit video that Lupe, Joseph and I made. We made it by taking turns talking and sharing our movies that we made at the Manaiakalani Film festival 2015. Room 9's movie was The Journey and Room 10's movie is called Kotahitanga meaning Unity.

  F I L M     F E S T I V A L

On Wednesday, I went with Katrina to the cinemas at Sylvia Park. When we got there we had a practice on the stage to present Room 10’s movie. We waited until it was our turn to present our movie. We presented it three times, two in the morning and one in the evening. In the evening we ate popcorn and we watched some other movies from other schools because it lasted for two hours. My favourite movie was Pay It Forward because it was funny!

Before we launched our own blogs we checked some of the other students with their own blogs and learnt about what we  need to share online and what we don't need to share online.
